Winter White Russian Dwarf Standard Colours


Normal (Agouti)

A dominant colour (Represented by ++). The hamster should be a dark brown carried 1/3 down the hair shaft, with heavy dark ticking that leaves the impression of a greyish brown to the colour. The base coat should be a deep slate blue, its belly fur should be white tinged with this blue in its under colour. As an agouti colour, the hamster should have three defined arches down the side separating the top colour from the belly colour, the white of these arches should be evenly ticked lightly with black, this black ticking should be heavily present down the dorsal stripe, giving the hamster a black stripe fully down its body, from between the eyes to the base of the tail. Eyes should be black and the ears grey but with dark edging to them.

Sapphire

This is a recessive colour (represented by dd). The top coat should be a smoky grey colour with a blue hint to it (as the word sapphire suggests), the base coat should be a steal blue colour. the belly fur should be an off-white, with a blue hint to the under colour. The eyes should be black and the ears a pastel grey shade (with a slight patch of off white just behind the ears). As an agouti colour the hamster should have three defined arches down the side separating the top colour from the belly colour, the white of these arches should be evenly ticked lightly with smoky grey, this smoky grey ticking should be heavily present down the dorsal stripe, giving the hamster a steal blue stripe fully down its body, from between the eyes to the base of the tail.

Pearl

A Dominant colour (Represented by Pe). The hamster should have the look of a white hamster evenly ticked lightly with colour (the colour must be one of the recognised colours, normal or sapphire). Both top coat and base coat should correspond to the standards for the recognised colour though should be paled due to this look of a white animal ticked with coloured hairs. This ticking should be even. The eyes should be black and the ears grey but with dark edging to them.
